Custom fields

Each project can have fields beside the built-in ones: Text, Number, Link, Date, Dropdown (with your own options) and Person. Values live under More details in each task and as columns in the Table.

  1. Open the project settingsThe menu beside the project name, then Fields.
  2. Add a fieldA name and a kind. For a Dropdown, list the options separated by commas.
  3. Add fieldIt appears in every task in this project at once. Rename or delete it from the same list.

Statuses

Lanes say where a card sits on the Board; statuses say what stage it is at, such as In review or Blocked. Open the project settings → Statuses. Start with the standard set (Not started, In progress, In review, Blocked, Done) or add your own, then rename, recolor, reorder or delete them. Each status belongs to a group (Not started, In progress or Done), and statuses in the Done group count as finished. Set a task's status from the Status row in its window; an automation can set it too.

  • Deleting a status does not delete any tasks; it clears the status from the tasks that had it.

Labels

Labels are colored tags, per project, used by every view and by the filter bar. Add them from a task's Labels row or the Board's quick edit; a task can carry several. Swimlanes by label put a card in every row it belongs to. Imports keep Trello and Asana labels and tags, with their colors where the source has them.
