What an organization is

An organization groups people, teams and projects under one roof, for an agency, a startup, a department or a club. Its page has Overview, Projects, Members, Teams and Chat tabs. Open My Organizations from the account menu to see yours or create one.

  1. Open My OrganizationsIn the account menu at the top right.
  2. Create new orgA name, a URL slug (filled in from the name) and an optional description.
  3. Invite people and make teamsFrom the Members and Teams tabs, or the Team Admin page.

Roles

Owner — everything, including deleting the organization. Admin — manages members and teams, not billing or deletion. Member — works on the projects they are given. Viewer — reads, changes nothing. Roles are per organization. Seats follow the organization's plan; inviting past the limit shows a message.

Teams

Teams are groups inside an organization (Engineering, Design, Volunteers) with a name, an icon and a color. A team can be a co-assignee or a follower on a task, so a whole group hears about it. Create and manage them from the Teams tab.

Chat

The Chat tab has general, announcements and random channels. Messages arrive live for everyone, with who is here and who is typing, unread dots on other channels, days and runs by author, Show earlier messages, and edit and delete (with Undo) for your own. Messages are visible to all members; it is not a private message system.

Team Admin

Owners and admins get a Team Admin page: the full member list with roles, a seat usage bar, team management and the organization's settings.
