Switching between views
Every view and tool a project has, where each one lives, and which to use when.
The core three
Board, Checklist and Timeline sit in the top bar on every project. Click one to switch; the address keeps the view you are on, so a link or a refresh brings you back to it. Press g then b, l or t to switch from the keyboard. All three show the same tasks.
Beside them on the toolbar
Table is the project's tasks as a grid you edit in place. Calendar is the same tasks by month or week. On a phone they fold into one menu.
Plan
The Plan menu holds the views for running the work:
- Sprints — plan a stretch of work, track its burndown and velocity.
- OKRs and KPIs — objectives with measurable key results; numeric targets with a trend.
- Eisenhower, MoSCoW and GTD — a method as a view over the same tasks.
- Time — logs and timers, by task and by person.
- Workload — who has what each week, against their capacity.
- Activity — what changed and who changed it, newest first.
- Risk register — risks with likelihood and impact, a heat map and a controls library.
Create
The Create menu holds the things you make from a project: Canvas (whiteboards and mind maps), Spreadsheet, Docs (project notes), Timeline Studio (presentation timelines), and under Analyze, Reports and Flow diagram.
Actions
Print or save as PDF, Automations, Save as template, Import and Export (JSON or CSV). The settings menu beside the project's name holds Details, Statuses, Workflows, Fields, Slack and Webhooks.
Which to use when
Use the Board when work moves through stages and the team lives on it. Use the Checklist when the plan is a list with sub-steps. Use the Timeline when dates and dependencies matter, and for the critical path. Use the Calendar to see a week. Use the Table to change many fields at once. Everything else is a lens on the same tasks, so switching costs nothing.
