Importing from Trello, Asana, Jira or a spreadsheet
Bring a board, project or issue list into Kyndium with its lanes, sub-tasks, labels, dates and dependencies.
Getting your file
Export from the tool you are leaving, then open Import: New project → Bring it from another tool, or Actions → Import inside a project to add to that project.
- Trello — on the board, the menu → Print, export and share → Export as JSON.
- Asana — in the project, the arrow beside its name → Export/Print → CSV.
- Jira — Filters → View all issues, search for what you want, then Export → Export CSV (all fields).
- Spreadsheet — any CSV or Excel sheet with a row per task. You choose which column is the title, lane, due date and so on.
What comes over
Trello: lists become lanes (a list called Done becomes a done lane), cards become tasks, checklists become sub-tasks, and labels keep their colors. Descriptions, attachment links and comments go into each task's notes. Archived lists and cards stay out unless you switch them on.
Asana: sections become lanes, subtasks stay sub-tasks, tags become labels, and "blocked by" becomes a dependency. Other custom fields are added to the notes.
Jira: statuses become lanes in To Do → Done order, sub-tasks nest under their parent, and the issues under an epic stay on the board with an "Epic: …" label. Labels, the latest sprint, story points, priority and "blocks" links come over, and the issue key leads each task's notes.
Before anything is imported you see the counts, the lanes and anything that will not come over. Finished work stays finished. Files up to 4 MB.
People
Tasks assigned by email go to the person on the project with that email. Anyone else is listed when the import finishes, so you can invite them with Share and assign their tasks. Trello's export has no email addresses, and Jira's usually does not either, so for those the person's name is kept in the task instead.
